Biography

I am an engineer, educator, and diversity advocate passionate about understanding the interplay of mechanics and biology in orthopaedic tissues. My goal is to harness the beneficial effects of mechanical loading to improve human health and orthopaedic treatment options.

As a PhD Candidate, I currently work with Dr. Marjolein van der Meulen. My research examines the transcriptional response of the tibia to applied mechanical loading. We are exploring site specific variation within cortical bone as a function of strain in addition to age-related changes, which may reflect diminished tissue-level responses.
